The SQUAT. Why and How - A Beginner Workout

One of the best ways to get a great rear end is through three very fundamental movements - the deadlift, the lunge and the squat. No crazy machines needed but some technique required. Today I want you all to squat. No weights required. I know you've done a few in your life as in every time you sit down. Yes, that's a squat!

Summer is coming and people are beginning to poke, prod and squish all the bits that have gotten away from them throughout the winter months.  Worries of bikini bottoms dance in their heads and how that derriere will look in them.

First, don't worry about what others think so much.  You're perfectly awesome the way you are.  But If you'd like to be a bit more awesome and you're ready to get strong the I've got a plan for you and it's squats.

Not only will the squat give you a nice bottom if done correctly it's also one of the best exercises for you, whether you’re trying to build muscle or lose weight (or both) or just live life without aches and pains.

Squats work practically so many muscle in your body it's astounding. Yes, the focus of the work is in the lower region but simply by doing squats it is possible to train hard to reach areas like the backside of your thighs, areas around the stomach, you know that pooch we all love to hate, your back, calves, and butt all in one fell swoop. If you’re looking to burn fat, you want to do exercises that trigger as much of your body as possible so it’s all getting worked and exercised. On the other side of the coin, if you’re looking to build muscle, your legs and back can put on the most muscle in the shortest amount of time.

"Is putting on extra muscle going to make me look fat?', asks the women.

What!? NO! Please don't fear bulk. The amount of work women have to do to bulk up is extremely high.  Our hormones just don't allow for it to happen easily. So relax and embrace what a little more muscle can do for you.  In fact, in order to make your metabolism work for you, it is required that you put on muscle to burn more calories while you sleep, i.e. increase your Basal Metabolic Rate.  Muscle makes it easier to burn off calories, thus making it harder to get fat.

If you are worried that you are going to get big, just don't pile on the weight.  I'm here to tell you that a lot of weight is just that.  A lot! If you don’t stack it you won’t pack it, as they say.

The squat is your best lower body exercise and that area, my dear, includes the butt. So if you're serious about getting in shape and losing fat, you need to include squats in your routine. Don't be afraid of the squat. It comes naturally to us. It never did anything to you except for making your butt awesome. Start with very light weight (or just your body weight), practice your form.  Be sure it's perfection. In no time you'll be getting ass to grass with every squat, packing on the plates and dropping body fat while building muscle.
