Life Will Throw You Curve Balls (Strong enough to make meaningful changes)

| No Babysitter? Pregnancy? Both not excuses. |
"Stay strong and move forward."
If I was to sum it up bluntly, I would then say this, "To succeed you need to WANT it. Work for what you want."
So with both those said I want you all to know that nothing will ever be perfect. My FIT BOMB video was less than perfect this week, with equipment failures, corrupted files and time constraints but I worked with what I had and got it done to the best of my abilities. (I named the video appropriately HOT MESS it's a bodyweight, 6 minute AB finisher. You can watch it here.) Hey, that's all life asks of us. To do the best we can with what we have. I read something on Nerd Fitness and it resonated with me, basically it was this:
- It will never be easy.
- It will never be the right or perfect time.
- No one can tell you exactly what to do, when to do it or will do it for you.
- There will always be dinners, holidays, sick days, bad weather, long days at work.
- It will always be easier to do nothing, sleep in, blame others, make excuses, give up

YUP!
Life is freaking hard – and it’s okay to not have all of the answers. I certainly don't!!! Nor will I say that I do.
Yes, you will make mistakes and that's OK. I have made plenty.
I've starved myself, cardio-ed myself out, chased the "dream body" and for what? It sure as heck was not for health.
I was lying to myself and when I finally asked myself the question of "WHY am I doing this?" I finally realized that I had worked so hard for so long to be so lean, and all the while I was desperately seeking validation, meaning, balance and worthiness.
I quickly learned that what I wanted was in no way aligned with my actions. Heck! I just wanted to feel good in my own skin and that starts within.
Here I am today, 10 plus lbs heavier, 5 years older and no longer equating size with worthiness. It was not all for not. What have I learned now that I've hit my F@CK IT FORTIES? Just that...
Stop giving a crap about what others think, unless you're an arse hole then tone that down a bit.
Stop taking things so darn serious, it's just fitness NOT your job, unless it's your job then, take others well being seriously which means not making them feel shame about their bodies and choices. Guide them on a path that is best suited to their lives!
SO ...
Don't give up the moment life doesn't go your way.
Don't beat yourself up when it all goes sideways because it will.
Don't expect instant results or a one size fits all plan.
Don't wait!
My best advice is to just get started and figure things out as you go.
Tomorrow never comes. Start now!
Try this bodyweight workout. It only take 6 minutes and zero equipment. By the way, this video was a complete failure, A HOT MESS really, that I cobbled together after an equipment breakdown. See! We all have our off days but I don't let it stop me. When you trip, make it part of your dance.
HOT MESS
4 Rounds (20 sec work/ 10 sec rest)
Pike Up
Knee To Elbow
Plank Jacks
There is no such thing as a bad day only a bad moment. You decide on how the rest of that day will be. Mine will be awesome.
If you need help? Just ask.
BE YOU. BE STRONG. BE AWESOME!

This isn't just my story.
You want proof?!
Proof of how fitness can change your life if only you'd take a leap of faith.
THIS IS ONE OF MY VERY FIRST TESTIMONIALS
...from around 2013. This person is still with me now!
I had sent out a survey making certain that no one was getting over their heads at Cherry Bomb Garage Gym. The survey had a list of things to look for in over-training. At the end I asked if there were any things I could improve on. This is what I got in return from one of my fiercest clients and I thank her deeply for her words.

"Hey Sara,
A few words about your classes...
I must admit, I was SORE after the first few classes and I thought I was in "decent" shape... maybe a few pounds over weight but pretty solid cardio and strength. WOW! I keep saying just how different it is than anything else I've done in the past - which was pretty much running and basic strength training using my own body weight (pushups, lunges, squats etc.)
I frigging love it! I look forward to every class, even though I'm running from my desk and back to my desk. My original intention was to get strong for fire fighting but it's gone totally beyond that. I will continue to do it regardless of what my future career will be.
Exercise has always been an outlet for me... hence running for 15 km just to clear my head. The opportunity to consistently "sweat it out" is HUGE as it was difficult with two young kids. I was feeling shitty about my body, stressed about knowing that I had to get in shape to compete, and even more stressed trying to figure out how I was going to fit it all in... AND TAKING ALL OF THIS FRUSTRATION OUT ON EVERYONE AROUND ME. Noon cross fit classes has addressed everything!!
I'm WAY more patient and at ease... my husband and kids thank you!....
I feel more confident with my body as things are starting to fit a little better. I don't own a scale so I'm not sure how that is going but my main focus is muscle and tone. Hence less annoyed... and frustrated with a saggy, post c section core when getting dressed. This translated in to a better morning for everyone :)
THANK YOU.... seriously THANK YOU!
Q: Is there something you'd like to see done to improve the class?
I think you do a great job! Small class size so that each person has the chance to have you look at form etc.
No one feels stupid and everyone is encouraging everyone else. It's awesome!
I also like that you take the time to do the mobility stuff....
Class time also works perfectly for me!
I'm really not sure how to improve. 100 % satisfied"
