5 Awesome Workouts To Get You Ready For Summer (PS. Beach Bodies are a ridiculous notion)
Well spring is in full bloom and summer is creeping up fast!
Oh No! BEACH SEASON!!!
I have some truth for you. Having a BEACH WORTHY BODY does not bring happiness. In fact, the whole concept is ridiculous.
The “beach body” thing assumes that there is only one body that is beach-worthy -- and it probably doesn’t look like whatever body you’ve already got. So guess what? You better not have cellulite, loose skin, small breasts, overly large breasts, unshapely arms and the list goes on and on. And the hard truth is you won't succeed, because you’re not supposed to. You’re really only supposed to TRY. And in doing so spend, spend, spend!
Our generation is full of diet and nutrition gurus, all claiming that they can help you lose weight and feel great. These folks can sometimes lead you down a dangerous path where you fear foods you were never afraid of before, you feel shame when you miss a morning cardio session, and you spend more time staring at other bodies on social media than using yours to live a vibrant life.
It's time to cultivate a new perception of health that will stick with you permanently because it feels good!!! Exercise to be healthy and strong! FUCK beach bodies!
- What if I told you that you don't need a diet to have a beautiful body?
- What if I told you that nobody will like you more if you're lean?
- What if I said that NOBODY even cares if you are lean?
So why exercise at all this spring?
Most will bring up the dreaded bathing suit but I'm here to say that there is more to summer than having your ass hang out. It's about enjoying summer and all the fun things that go along with it - hiking, kayaking, swimming, mud runs - I don't know... but whatever you choose to try this summer you'll need to be physically capable. So don't focus on FAT LOSS when doing these workouts. Instead Focus on becoming a stronger more capable human being.
Don't get me wrong. It’s great to feel proud of your body, but I’d rather we all feel enabled to be proud of our bodies no matter what they look like. And that pride shouldn't come at the expense of someone else who didn't choose to workout for hours daily and eat nothing but lettuce and protein shakes. Good for you for having temporarily worked your butt off to flaunt yourself on a beach but by choosing not to do these things doesn't forfeited others rights to go to the beach.

Frankly, anyone who tries to make you feel like crap about being outside in a swimsuit is a terrible, terrible person and not worth your attention. I'm here to give say your body is just fine and our goal isn't for you to look better for the beach season, it's to help you to get stronger and more confident. So you can beat those skinny ass folks up who say mean things ;) (OK... don't do that)

These workouts are anywhere from 10 - 20 minutes long and can be modified to suit anyone's current fitness level. Fitness and health should be for everyBODY not just the elite. Now, get strong and have fun!!
