CANDY COMA NO MORE! (Sugar Free Challenge & it's all FREE)

You've gone and done it, haven't you?

Candy, candy, candy.  Halloween has come and gone yet the bags of treats and chips haunt you and you grab just one.  Then two, three...uh oh!

I know how it goes, especially if you have kids. Today is my first day of my no more #SUGARCOMA challenge. I'm putting my foot down. No more crazy candy binges for this lady. "Stomp!".

"there is nothing extreme or wild and crazy about this challenge! It is just about helping ease you out of your bad habits so that rare treat is just that, a treat!"

Here's the gist. You probably haven’t spent a ton of time wondering what happens to your body after you eat something sugary – it goes in there with all the rest of the food you consume and keeps you alive – end of story. So don't get all crazy about it.

Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy, and play an important role in the functioning of the internal organs, the nervous system and the muscles, but our systems don't need sugar in the quantity that we are used to. There was a time - before food processing - when sugar was mainly obtained from fruits and vegetables and people consumed 30 grams per day of it.

Now, an average American consumes 76 grams a day, which is about 19 teaspoons. That adds up to 96 pounds of sugar yearly (40 lbs. of which is high fructose corn syrup). Canadians consume slightly lower amounts at 88 pounds.

So, here's the rub for me, I CrossFit, weight-lift and am a coach, so that means I will be needing my carbs to perform well.  Hence, I will not cut out carbs (
no woman should!) which tends to up my cravings. So when I say sugar I mean REFINED SUGAR, not everything.  As you will see, there is nothing extreme or wild and crazy about this challenge! It is just about helping ease you out of your bad habits so that rare treat is just that, a treat!
