New Season, New Goal!
The end of the summer is your perfect opportunity to try on some new goals, training styles, and motivational tricks. Here's how to design your fittest fall yet!Review
What worked this summer when you, I mean THEY, were in full on beast mode. Be honest with yourself, I mean them, they..nevermind. We all know who we're talking to here. Again, honesty. This can a bit tough but think back when you were on your bikini, speedo, look good naked kick and figure out what made you miserable and what didn't. If low-carb or too much cardio was too tough to align with family and social life then that just won't be realistic to maintain long term. Plus, if it didn't work (long term) then try something else!!!
Now is when you need to start planning to keep whatever derailment from happening again. Especially through the FESTIVE WINTER SEASON. So, what works for me? My
goals often change to a less physical to a focus on performance. I chase a different weight. I want them to go up in my weightlifitng and I focus more closely on quality movements. Which brings me to point 2.

Find something new to learn.
I have great success when I shift to performance-oriented goals, like boosting a squat PR or getting better at handstands. In general, I've found when winter settles in, I can push around some big weights and add some muscle while it's cold outside, or I try to master a new skill so I can show it off next year! HA! Basically, when I focus on performance, I tend not to slack off on my workouts quite as much in the dreary months to come.
Working toward a new PR or learning a new skill entirely during this time can keep you engaged with your fitness. Try something new.
