If not, then consider exercising in a group setting because you may need the motivation.


Not everyone enjoys exercising in groups, I get that but consider this.

Research suggests that group exercise unleashes a flood of chemicals in the brain, triggering the same responses that dancing, laughter and religion produce. Some would say it's a community.  For some (but not all) people, finding workout buddies could help turn fitness into a pleasant addiction.

If that seems a bit far fetched there are a bunch of other reasons to join a fitness group.  I'll give you one but I assure you there are more.
Motivation
Unless you're that annoyingly ambitious person who can hop out of bed at 5 a.m. to run 100 miles, do a million sit-ups, get a shower in, all before breakfast then all the more power to you but alas, that is usually not the case. The majority of the people I've worked with over the years haven't that drive.  Myself included.

This is where a group setting really helps. Many people will show up for class drained from a regular hectic day but once they join the group, they become re-energized.

There is also the motivation to be better. If you surround yourself with people who are faster, stronger or fitter than you, you are probably going to get in better shape. There's an old saying that goes, "The lead dog sets the pace for the rest of the pack."

And last but not least exercising with partners or in groups has the added benefit of simply committing to meet someone.  Oh and shooting the sh*t during a workout. :)
So why should you join a group workout?

You tell me.

Jump the 'lone wolf' ship to work out with others and become the best version of you.  It doesn't have to be with me, at FITClub, Cherry Bomb or RetroFIT.  Pick what works for you and just stick with it.  GET STRONG.  HAVE FUN!


For those who are happy exercising alone, there's no reason to join a group.  Especially when you get such great FREE at home workouts like this one.
