I MAY NOT BE THE BEST BUT DAMN IF I DON'T TRY! (CrossFit Ville Marie Comp)
Recently I got to compete in a friendly in-house competition at CrossFit Ville Marie with my hubby. Wow, was I blown away by how many people were in attendance, considering the size of the box. What a great venue too. Clean and modern. It was clear that all the competitors had not just some friends and close family there, but also the support from other members of their box.
I know there are many in the CrossFit community who don’t like the competition aspect of it (me included...I get all freaked out and self conscious about my performance), or even necessarily the timed aspect of workouts done just within boxes. Form tends to be sacrificed for the sport. I chose to put on my big girl pants, focus on form and give it a go...in a new place...with people I didn't know...feeling really nervous. I did my best. Sooo... not the winner of this COMP.

Overall, I can honestly say I had a great time at the event. I am a fan of exercise, and it was a blast watching people put in big efforts and seeing them supported by friends and family. Anything that gets people off the couch is ultimately a good thing and should be applauded for making a difference in the world’s health.
I wound up being asked to judge. Funny, from feeling judged to being judgy. Was my performance that poor? Nah, my technique was just that good;) BOOM!
WAY TO GO EVERYONE WHO COMPETED NO MATTER WHERE YOU WOUND UP! Way to get your asses off that couch! You're the bomb!
