Why Cherry Bomb Garage Gym is "The bomb!"

For me, my gym is a social gathering place where I enjoy the company of some seriously hilarious and ridiculous folks that I may have never met otherwise. In a world of work relationships and Facebook acquaintances. Yes, I said it -.acquaintances; It's nice to get the opportunity to meet genuine, like minded people with common interests.

It's also a place I go to "Play". Yes, I said it - play...wait, no reason for that one.

What ever happened to fun? So many of us have lost touch with that. I'll tell you right now, monkey bars are way harder than you remember. So is jumping rope, especially without peeing your pants. (You women know where I'm going with that one.)  How about climbing, tag, and the countless other things we used to do as kids?  Now that gravity knows we exist they are way harder but they are still awesome.

The gym is a place to challenge myself, where I push myself mentally and physically, to limits I would never choose to go in any other comfortable setting. You quickly find out if you've gotten enough sleep or have been paying attention to your nutrition. I never truly understood the value of a good night's sleep or a well-balanced meal until I started recording my performance. A weekend of drinking looks pretty horrible during a workout. Ugh. Also, It's a place where I feel safe enough to dance when a fun song comes on.  Try it.  Nothing cures a bad day like heavy lifting and wild dancing.

As a level 1 CrossFit trainer I teach it's philosophy.  As someone who has taken the CrossFit Movement and Mobility Course and various other courses I believe that we train for our futures and for quality within it and that is how I interpret their training style.  And while that philosophy of functional fitness may not be right for everyone, it may very well be right for you. You'll never know if you don't try.  Don't Google it and try to experience it through the twisted pages of the Interwebs - and yes, I know that's not a word. You'll just find posts of stupid people doing stupid things or posts of the truly elite performing amazing feats of strength and that's just not realistic. Opinions will be one sided.  Be they good or bad and therefore will not be fair. Find a qualified coach close to home and give them
a shot. They can work with you at your level.  If in the end, you're not a fan and dislike the approach, just make sure to write a combative and venomous post about it;)

Be you.  Be strong.  Be awesome!
