If you hate to exercise then you're probably doing the wrong one.

I get the, "I don't know what to do," statement often, usually followed by "How do I get started?" My answer is easy, follow along with my workouts this month or find something else that you like and do it. Bet you weren't expecting that second part.

I want you all to follow me, like me, subscribe to me, and share all that I do with your friends but I don't want you to do that unless you really do enjoy it.  Same thing goes for fitness. Please don't do something because you think it will make you look like so and so -Funny, no matter how hard I train, I can't seem to get taller. - If you cringe at the thought of training, move on to some other form of exercise because it's not going to be sustainable.  Fitness is just one aspect of health and when we look at physical health, nutrition and mindset also plays a really important role. So be happy first and that doesn't mean forcing yourself to do something you dread. Our point of view when it comes to ourselves and to our food can be catastrophic to our goals. But that's a whole other can of worms I'm not going to open today.  Let's start from the outside in and that's where this months challenge begins.

The exercises will be short and intense - eventually.  I'll start you off slowly with some basic bodyweight exercises and ease you in to the more intense work.  All these workouts will have scaled/modified movements so everyone no matter what their fitness level can participate.

My motto is fitness for everybody.  I stand by that statement which is why I post all my workouts for FREE.  They may not be much but they'll get you started on the path of health and wellness.  CrossFit has made a huge difference in my life and I want to share that with others.

For me, exercise has become more than just fitness, it’s my outlet and a bit of a hobby. It keeps me sane and helps me put things in perspective, I feel energized and ready to tackle whatever is ahead of me.  I was awashed in a sea of information telling me one thing, then another.  I tried most every type of routine but what really resonated with me on MY journey to health was when I joined Crossfit. I found something I really enjoyed and something that fit all the criteria I needed to fill for myself. For someone else that might be completely different and that's OK.

Think of what motivates you, what you love the most and whether any activities your friends, colleagues or partner do interest you. Don't worry if people think it's strange "dodge ball league" their not the ones doing it so it doesn't matter what they think. If you like it and it works for you, do it. Try and find at least one activity that gets your heart pumping and another that is more relaxing. They could be anything, walk or ride, joining a sports team, gardening, yoga...I really don't give a crap what you do because it's not me and I have no say in what you choose to do, as long as you're doing something.  We can all agree that something, anything, is better than nothing. So, I'll get you started.

MARCH MADNESS.  Winter blues be damned!  Be you.  Be strong.  Be awesome.

    1. I hear ya. I lived in a one bedroom apartment with both my husband and, at the time, one small child. We slept in the dining room, our son got the bedroom. I wound up having to rearrange the furniture every time I wanted to exercise but I made it work. Do the best you can in any situation and if all else fails wait till summer to get outdoors.
Good luck and thanks for the comment.
